Ulm, July 13th, 2022. 35 participants and 18 speakers from 13 countries attended the Spine Academy Meeting in Ulm, Germany, from July 6 to 8, which was held as part of the ulrich medical Academy. This year, for the eighth time, the medical technology manufacturer provided a high-quality exchange of experience with internationally renowned experts.

After two years of forced pause due to the pandemic, the CME-certified event took place in presence again. Renowned spine specialists from around the world led participants through case discussions and hands-on workshops. They provided insights into their treatment approaches, such as fusion strategies from the occiput to the high thoracic spine or at the thoracic spine, and shared highlights with the professional audience, such as a new technique for stabilizing the subaxial dorsal cervical spine (Attalah technique). “I am happy to be able to share my knowledge and stimulate scientific discourse among fellow specialists. In addition, it is always exciting to see what techniques specialists in other countries choose. ulrich medical provided an excellent forum for discussion and exchange of ideas,” says MD Patrick Maloney, Chief of Neurosurgery at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield, California, and speaker at this year’s Spine Academy Meeting. Dr. Preston Aldrin Moodley from Neurology Department at Universitas Academic Hospital in Bloemfontein, South Africa, and participant of the meeting, adds: “I am deeply grateful to ulrich medical for creating a platform for academic sharing that motivates and inspires young budding spinal surgeons.”

Exchange of experience of high value

The expert forum enjoys great popularity among participants and speakers: “Over the past few years, around 400 international spine surgeons have come to us in Ulm. This clearly shows us how valuable this scientific exchange is for physicians,” says Klaus Kiesel, Chief Executive Officer at ulrich medical. Christoph Ulrich, Managing Partner, adds: “For us, this meeting is an absolute highlight in the calendar of events. We will continue to be committed to sharing knowledge and promoting dialogue in the future. After all, findings from such forums always give us impetus that we can translate into innovative solutions for spine surgery.” In order to continue the success of the event without interruption, the Spine Academy Meeting is already firmly scheduled at ulrich medical for 2023.
